The Secret Circle 1x10-Darkness-2012

In this seasons largest cross-media win-win situation, The CW has opted to merge the works of author L.J. Smith in to a two-hour block of supernatural tv. Following the networks other hit, The Vampire Diaries, with the high school witches of The Secret Circle could turn out to be the networks next huge programming attraction.

The CW premieres its newest supernatural drama, The Secret Circle, based on the books by Vampire Diaries author L.J. Smith. Will it be another hit for the network  or will witches fizzle where vampires shine?

With new shows like the Sarah Michelle Gellar thriller Ringer and Hart of Dixie with Rachel Bilson, The CW has launched a single teen-centric drama this season  and they selected The Secret Circle. No doubt the already established fanbase of the books and the lead-in of the series sibling The Vampire Diaries made the decision simple  but does this mean The CW is leaving teen drama behind?
